Frown and smile, little pirate ;)

Posted by: julynell on: February 29, 2008

So when I came home yesterday, Croga showed me he could frown a little bit with the paralyzed part of his face! At first I didn’t see it and thought it was wishful thinking of him. He has had it already with this discomfort. But it wasn’t! Today he could smile a little bit better [...]

So Croga went to the doc yesterday morning. It turns out to be what we already thought: Bell’s Palsy So now he has a prednison (medication) prescription and an eye patch to prevent his eye from drying out. It’s cute He looks like a pirate now.
If everything goes as expected, he should [...]

Have you ever been afraid of something…really afraid?

Posted by: julynell on: February 20, 2008

Have you ever been afraid of something and I mean really afraid? I am not easily scared or afraid. I was raised in a way that taught me not to be afraid of anything, whatever it is, you can cope with it, as a human being has a great ability to deal with things. But [...]

Troy

I saw Troy this evening. For the third time or something. I am a huge Brad Pitt fan (and not just because he is good looking ), I love most of his movies although I haven’t seen all of them by a long shot.
The second reason I love Troy, is the setting of [...]

Yesterday we went to Croga’s family, his stepfather had his birthday. Croga’s two brothers were also there. The oldest one with his wife and two sons and the younger one alone. Let me tell you, seeing those kids again confirmed once again that Croga and I are right not wanting any kids. Those two were [...]

Warrior of Light

When a warrior is the victim of injustice, he usually tries to be alone, in order not to show his pain to others.

This is both good and bad.

It is one thing to allow one's heart to heal it's wounds slowly, but it is quite another to sit all day in deep contemplation for fear of seeming weak.

Inside each of us there lives an angel and a devil, and their voices are very alike. Confronted by a problem, the devil encourages that solitary conversation, trying to show us how vulnerable we are. The angel makes us reflect upon our attitudes and occasionally needs someone else's mouth to reveal itself.

A warrior balances solitude and dependence.

from Manual of the Warrior of Light by Paulo Coelho
